You may be wondering why there is a picture of a castle on my page. The castle is the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary, Ireland, where my family hails from. The photo was taken from a field at the bottom of the hill and across the road. In this field, although it's not visible in the picture, are the ruins of Hore Abbey, a 12th century Cistercian monastery. In the foreground below the Rock is a white building and part of a stone building, visible through the trees to the left. The house is the home of Tom and Brid O'Brien and their children. The stone structure to the left is a barn, which they have converted to one of the finest hostels in Ireland. This view of the Rock is one of my favorites, so I wanted to share it with you.

  2. Oops, forgot to answer your query regarding my vase. I used regular latex paint then used crackle made from glue. I afterwards sealed it with varnish.
