Happy Monday to all of you! I hope everyone had as wonderful a weekend as I did. It's beautiful here: soft, gentle rain and cooling breezes that are heralding spring's imminent arrival. I planted basil seed outside in a pot just several days ago and it's already popping up. Wonderful because last year my basil was truly a bust!
I can't wait to get out into the garden and begin serious planting. Last summer was a mixed blessing. We had an abundance of tomatoes, enough to share with our pastor and neighbors as well as plenty for ourselves. My Armenian cucumbers started out well, but then the voles--yes, I said voles, not moles---began burrowing next to my cukes and destroyed them. I was pretty upset since the Armenian cucumbers are long and slender with fewer and smaller seeds than regular cucumbers. Unfortunately, my green peppers were very unproductive (just got a few very small ones) and the gourds died before they produced gourds. I was really looking forward to doing some gourd projects, too.
I'll be trying to post pictures soon, but I have to do some figuring out on this blogging thing. Just all thumbs when it comes to technology--black thumbs, too. I hope to post some pictures of the St. Paddy's Day tea I had yesterday for several friends. We had a lovely time that I'd like to share tih you.
Have a blessed day!
Roisin
